- He worked after 1806 as a silversmith in Providence RI at ". . . the old stand of INGRAHAM & GREENE, opposite Meetinghouse." 3
- He worked before 1820 as a silversmith in Providence RI as a member of JOSIAH WHITAKER & Co. Both Thomas Whitaker and William Greene were mentioned in the notice of dissolution printed on 9 March 1820 in the Providence Gazette. 3
- He was a partner in 1835-1838 with James and Joseph Warren Greene in New York City NY as WILLIAM GREENE & BROTHERS, with a shop at 44 Maiden Lane.
