  • He was a partner in 1797-1800 with Elizabeth Gibbs in Providence RI as JENKES & Co. The Impartial Observer (Sept. 1, 1800) and the U. S. Observer (Sept. 18, 1800) reported the partnership of John Gibbs' former apprentice, John C. Jenckes, and Gibb's widow, Elizabeth. The firm was dissolved on 01 Aug 1800. 3
  • He worked circa 1800-1850 as a silversmith and jeweler in Providence RI
