• He worked circa 1817-1821 as a silversmith and watchmaker in New York City NY listed in New York City Directory, 1817 ³

• He worked circa 1821 as a silversmith and watchmaker in Eatonton GA where he advertised in the Georgia Journal on 6 March 1821:
  "All persons indebted to Nathaniel Saltonstall, formerly of the firm of Daniel B. Hempsted & Co., watchmakers, Eatonton, Putnam County, are requested to call and adjust their accounts before the first day of May, next.

  It is not known if he continued on until his move to Rochester NY in 1825 or if he only stayed long enough to put Saltonstall's affairs in order. ³
