• He was a partner circa 1821-1852 with Daniel Booth Hempstead and Asa Spencer in Eatonton GA as D. B. HEMPSTEAD & Co. Apparently his involvement was short-lived. An advertisment ran in the Georgia Journal of 6 March 1821 announced:
  "All persons indebted to Nathaniel Saltonstall, formerly of the firm of Daniel B. Hempsted & Co., watchmakers, Eatonton, Putnam County, are requested to call and adjust their accounts before the first day of May, next.
