    His master's trade in buckle and button making having fallen away, he left to take up steel founding, at which he found considerable success.
  • He worked in 1806-1835 as a clockmaker in Waterbury CT
  • He was a partner in 1835-1849 with Corydon Stillman Sperry and Willard Spencer in Waterbury CT as LEAVENWORTH, SPENCER & SPERRY, manufacturing gilt, brass, and cloth buttons.
  • He was a partner in 1829-1833 with Green Kendrick and Benjamin Franklin Leavenworth in Waterbury CT as LEAVENWORTH & KENDRICK, manufacturing gilt buttons.
