  • He worked on 17 Dec 1845-1856 as a jeweler in Columbus GA
    Though listed in some references as a silversmith, there is no evidence that he was trained to the trade. 15
  • He appeared on the 1850 census taken at Columbus GA, listed as a jeweler, living next door to his past partner William Foster.
  • Advertised in the Columbus Times (Columbus GA), 1847, the opening of a new store at Hungerford Corner stocked with goods from New York and John Ward on hand for all watch work and engraving. 4
  • He worked circa 1856-1857 as a jeweler in Northfield MA with a stand in the Jones Building. 4
