"An old gentleman named Asa Huntington committed suicide by hanging yesterday in the town of Pittsford. Coroner Quin was sent for and held an inquest this morning upon which the following facts were elicited. The deceased was 65 years of age and had for the last four years resided with his second cousin, Dr. W. M. Huntington. He was in feeble health and low spirits and had frequently expressed a desire to end his life, begging the doctor to give him something with which to destroy himself. Disturbed by a remark made by some member of the household, he went out to the barn where he was found about 3 p.m. by Dr. Huntington, his lifeless body suspended from a rope tied to a rafter."
