Silversmith

  Events in his life were:

  • Flynt & Fales:, . 3 His house, which is extant, stood on Town Street, or the main highway, between New London and Hartford, sometimes called "the Governor's road," laid out very wide in 1807. He owned substantial property and was also was a tavern keeper. Inventory of his estate listed "sundry silver smiths' tools and case—$6" and "silver smiths' bellows and 2 anvils—$10," as well as some pieces of silver. John and Lucy Breed buried in cemetery back of Bacon Academy. Inventory of her estate included "Case of Silversmith's tools" and a silversmith's anvil. The case is reported to have been sold in 1911 "to a well-known collector of old silver."

John married Lucy Bulkeley on 13 May 1773 in Colchester CT. (Lucy Bulkeley was born on 4 Aug 1749 in Colchester CT and died on 30 Dec 1821.)
