  • He was a partner in Aug 1795-27 Sep 1803 with Horatio Clark in Bennington VT as HUNT & CLARK. When the partnership dissolved, Clark continued the business at the old stand. 8
  • Advertised in the Vermont Gazette, 4 Nov 1796, as HUNT & CLARK, announcing they had lately recieved from New York a number of French, English, and Geneva watches and had an elegant assortment of gilt and steel watch chains, seals and keys, plated sugar tongs, ladies' necklaces, snuffboxes, etc. They noted that they repaired watches and car­ried on the silver smithing business as usual. They also asked for old gold, silver, copper and brass.
  • Advertised in the Vermont Gazette, 2 Mar 1797, as HUNT & CLARK, asking for two apprentices to the clock and watchmaking business and noting that they had harness buckles for sale.

  • Advertised in the Vermont Gazette (Bennington VT), 26 Sep 1803, announcing his move one door south of his old shop to a new location in the red shop. Here he announced he had on hand and constantly manufactured clocks and timepieces of every description. He also did all kinds of gold and silversmith's work and plated all kinds of coach, phaeton and sleigh harnesses. He sold improved elastic trusses well worth the attention of persons troubled with ruptures and kept on hand an assortment of watch chains, seals and keys. He repaired watches and paid particular attention to their performance. In his advertisement he noted that he would pay cash for old gold, silver, copper and brass. 8
  • He worked after 1803 as a silversmith in Bennington VT
    For a short time he was connected with an iron smelting furnace, but more permanently was in the business of watch and clockmaking, jewelry and silversmithing. 8,16
