Engraved with the Elliot arms and "Given to H-Gale in Rememberence / of her Brother-Saml Eliott who / died on the Coast of Affrica / 1 Iany 1741 Aged 24" for Hannah (Elliott) Gale. This is one of only two known pieces marked by Greene.
- He worked circa 1740-1760 as a silversmith in Boston MA supplying considerable amounts of silver and jewelry to other makers and retailers. He also commissioned specialized work from other makers, including Jacob Hurd. 9
Benjamin married Mary Chandler, daughter of John Chandler and Hannah Gardiner, on 7 Feb 1736 in Boston MA. (Mary Chandler was born on 9 Sep 1717 in Woodstock CT and died on 28 Feb 1756 in Boston MA.)
