  It is not known what the nature of his business was in Lowell. He is listed as a clerk in both the 1850 and 1860 census there, but spoons c 1835-1860 marked as shown and "LOWELL" are in various public and private collections. By 1870, he had moved to Dayton OH, where he is listed as a scroll saw manufacturer.
