• He worked circa 1827-1831 as a pewtersmith in Taunton MA as an employee of CROSSMAN, WEST & LEONARD, recieving 38 cents a day in wages.

• He worked circa 1837 as a pewtersmith in Taunton MA establishing his own shop using equipment rented from LEONARD, REED & BARTON. By the 1850 census, he had turned to the manufacturing of stoneware.
