  He arrived with his family on 8 January 1820 and claimed an abandoned hut. After sowing 5 acres of wheat, he left to work at his trade in Batavia, but soon returned, as there was not enough work available to cover his board. He returned home and spent the remainder of his life farming.

George married Anne Olney Warner on 13 Dec 1806 in Providence RI. (Anne Olney Warner was born on 2 May 1790 in Providence RI and died on 25 Apr 1835.)
