• He worked in 1876-1879 as an engraver in Meriden CT for the MERIDEN BRITANNIA COMPANY

• He worked in 1879-1884 as an engraver in Taunton MA as the foreman of the engraving department of STEEN, SON & HALL, who had bought up the works of the TAUNTON SILVER PLATE COMPANY. He left the firm open a meat market in Taunton.
