- He wrote his will on 1 Feb 1796 in New York City NY In the name of God, Amen. I, SAMUEL JOHNSON, of New York, silversmith, being sick. I leave to Fanny Sprainger, wife of Peter Sprainger, $500. I leave to Mary Holloway $500, and I charge my estate with these sums. All the rest of my estate, real and personal, I leave to Captain Thomas Randall, and his heirs and assigns.
