- Flynt & Fales:, . 3 Captain in the Revolution; participated in Shay's Rebellion. The old Potter House which he built himself, stood at the corner of Ward and South Main Streets in North Brookfield, and was moved to Storrowtown in West Springfield, Massachusetts. He was a master of seven trades—gold-and silversmith, clock- and watchmaker, cabinetmaker, blacksmith, carpenter, cooper, and surveyor, as well as a good farmer. Previously unlisted as a silversmith and apparently not connected with the John Potter of Virginia whose mark includes Norfolk in rectangle.
