Silversmith

  Events in his life were:

  • Flynt & Fales:, . 3 Captain in the Revolution; participated in Shay's Rebellion. The old Potter House which he built himself, stood at the corner of Ward and South Main Streets in North Brookfield, and was moved to Storrowtown in West Springfield, Massachusetts. He was a master of seven trades—gold-and silversmith, clock- and watchmaker, cabinetmaker, blacksmith, carpenter, cooper, and surveyor, as well as a good farmer. Previously unlisted as a silversmith and apparently not connected with the John Potter of Virginia whose mark includes Norfolk in rectangle.

John married Lydia Cutting in Apr 1768 in North Brookfield MA. (Lydia Cutting was born about 1746 in Shrewsbury MA and died on 31 Mar 1781 in North Brookfield MA.)

John next married Rhoda Burnap on 30 Apr 1782 in North Brookfield MA. (Rhoda Burnap was born on 23 Dec 1753 in Hopkinton MA, died in 1843 in North Brookfield MA and was buried in 1843 in North Brookfield MA.)
