- He was a partner in 1829-1834 with Aaron Benedict Bennet Bronson, Benjamin De Forest, Alfred Platt, and James Croft in Waterbury Middlesex MA as BENEDICT & COE.
- He worked after 1834 as a brassfounder in Torrington CT
Built the first brass mill on the site of the present enormous plant of American Brass Company of Torrington. He was elected state senator from his district in 1843, accumulated a large fortune, and was Torrington's first great captain of industry.
