Silversmith and merchant

  Events in his life were:

  • Flynt & Fales:, . 3 Moved with his family to Bermuda 1705/6, and returned with them to Boston about 1714. Moved to Charleston, South Carolina about 1732. Referred to as merchant in Charleston. His inventory showed him to be a man of considerable means.
  • He worked circa 1720-1732 as a silversmith in Boston MA 3
  • He worked after 1732 as a merchant in Charleston SC
    Though often listed as a silversmith while in Charleston, it is unlikely he continued working at his trade. In an 1835 indenture and afterwards in numerous deeds, he is refered to as a merchant. The inventory of his estate lists many houehold goods, totaling more than £6,000, but no working tools. 3
