In his will, written on 18 April 1804, Burt left to his last apprentice "all his Goldsmiths working tools now in my shop."

He was listed in the 1803 and 1805 city directories on Fifth Street. A spoon attributed to him and inscribed "First Church / Malden 1823" is in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts collection. 9
