  • He worked circa 1838-1843 as a jeweler in Fort Wayne IN
  • He worked in 1843-1860 as a jeweler and watchmaker in Sandusky OH where he supplimented his business with real estate speculation and winemaking. By 1861 the latter had become his primary occupation.
  • He appeared on the census in 1850 in Sandusky OH. Listed as a watchmaker.
  • He appeared on the census in 1860 in Sandusky OH. Listed as a jeweler.
  • He appeared on the census in 1870 in Brooklyn NY. Listed as a wine merchant.
