  • He worked in 1828-1850 as a silversmith in Savannah GA signing himself in advertisements as "M. Eastman; surviving partner and succesor to the late firm of J. Penfield & Co." His business apparently continued after his death and was eventually sold to George M. Griffin in 1852. 15
