Silversmith and clockmaker

  Events in his life were:

• Flynt & Fales. Although none of his pieces or marks are definatively known and he may not have worked on his own before 1825, we do know from the Concord Daily Monitor of 22 April 1881, in referring to his death, that he learned from his father the gold and silversmith trade and clockmaking business. Abiel went into a co-partnership with his father in 1829 under the name of A. CHANDLER & Co. which was dissolved in 1830, as reported in the New Hampshire Patriot of 4 December. The Concord, New Hampshire Directory of 1844-50 referred to him as maker of philosophical instruments. By 1874 he was listed as a florist and horticulturist. ³
