• Flynt & Fales:, . ³ Portsmouth Directories show he was Town Clerk, 1817; Clerk of U. S. Bank in Portsmouth; Cashier of People's Bank in Bangor. Took over father's business in 1804. Deeds from 1810 to 1817 consistently refer to him as gold- and silversmith or just goldsmith.

• Advertised in the New Hampshire Gazette (Portsmouth NH), 1810-1812, for two apprentices to gold- and silversmith's business and "continues gold and silversmith's business and has taken over Joseph Clark's stock of gold." ³

• Advertised in the New Hampshire Gazette (Portsmouth NH), 1814, after severe loss in fire of 1813, announced move into ". . . a temporary building on his former stand . . . carries on his gold and silversmith's business." ³

• Advertised in the New Hampshire Gazette (Portsmouth NH), 1815, announcing new shop in Daniel Street " . . . .happy to execute orders in the gold and silversmith's line." ³
