• He worked in 1846-1847 as a silversmith and jeweler in Athens GA managing his brother's second store. ¹⁵

• Partnership: Otis Childs, in 1847-1861, in Athens GA. As O. & A. K. CHILDS. The firm was discontinued at the outbreak of the Civil War and not resumed afterwards. Returning from service, Asaph went into the hardware business and was involved in banking and real estate in Athens. ¹⁵
