Events in her life were:
- Partnership: Rebecca Damon Butterfield and Josephine Whiting, in 1891-1892, in North Attleboro MA. As F. M. WHITING. At the death of Frank Mortimer Whiting, his business was continued by his widow, mother, and two sisters. In 1895, the company was converted to a stock company under the name F. M. WHITING & Co. In 1896, the firm's name was changed to FRANK. M. WHITING & Co. after a lawsuit brought by WHITING MANUFACTURING. The firm was also required to drop its griffin mark. In 1924, it was sold to Ellmore Silver Co. 12
