  • General. In addition to his commercial work as a silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker, he wrote and illustrated a number of books, including The Pictorial Field-Book Of The Revolution, The Pictorial Field Book Of The War Of 1812, and The Hudson, From The Wilderness To The Sea.
  • Partnership: Adam Henderson, in 1833-1835, in Poughkeepsie NY. As HENDERSON & LOSSING. The firm proved unsuccessful, leaving both men deep in debt at its dissolution. Lossing later described it as "an unfortunate enterprise." He left the trade and enjoyed much more success as an author and illustrator. 18
